Zoom Connector

Connect Zoom so Hero can search and read your meetings, recordings, and Zoom Docs content in its prep and answers.

Written by Danielle Heffernan

Hero's Zoom connector lets Hero search and read your Zoom meetings, recordings, and Zoom Docs content, so it can bring that context into its prep and answers when you ask.

Note: This is different from Hero joining your Zoom calls to record and transcribe them live — that's Hero's call bot, covered in Add Hero to a Call. Connecting the Zoom connector doesn't turn call-joining on or off, and disconnecting it doesn't stop Hero from joining calls — they're independent.

Availability: The Zoom connector is rolling out and may not be enabled for every account yet.

Connect Zoom

  1. Open Settings > Connectors.

  2. Find Zoom and click Connect.

  3. Log in to Zoom if prompted.

  4. Review the permissions requested and click Allow.

You're connecting your own Zoom account — no admin approval is required first.

Disconnect Zoom

  1. Open Settings > Connectors.

  2. Find Zoom and click Disconnect.

Disconnecting removes Hero's access to your Zoom content right away.

What Hero Can Do

Once connected, Hero can:

  • Search and read your Zoom meetings and past meeting details

  • Access your cloud recordings

  • Read Zoom Docs and Zoom Hub content you have access to

Hero's access is scoped to your own Zoom account and permissions — it only sees what you can see in Zoom. Hero doesn't create, edit, or delete anything in Zoom through this connector; it currently only requests read access. You can review and adjust what Hero is allowed to do with this connection. See Control What Hero Can Do below.

Control What Hero Can Do

Open the Zoom connector from Settings > Connectors to see the specific tools Hero has access to, grouped as Read-only. For each one, you can set it to:

  • Always allow

  • Needs approval — Hero asks before using it

  • Blocked

Security & Privacy

  • Connecting uses Zoom's standard OAuth sign-in — Hero never sees or stores your Zoom password.

  • Access is scoped to your own account and your own permissions in Zoom.

  • Disconnecting removes Hero's access immediately.

OAuth Scopes Requested

Hero requests the following Zoom scopes, all read-only:

  • meeting:read:search — Search your meetings

  • meeting:read:assets — Access meeting assets

  • cloud_recording:read:content — Read cloud recording content

  • cloud_recording:read:list_user_recordings — List your cloud recordings

  • docs:read:export — Read Zoom Docs

  • hub:read:content — Read Zoom Hub content

  • agentic_search:read:search / agentic_search:read:ask — Zoom's AI-powered search over your content
