Connect AI Assistants to Hero (MCP)

Connect Claude or ChatGPT to Hero so it can securely read your workspaces, call transcripts, and chat threads — no copy-pasting between tools.

Written by Danielle Heffernan

Hero offers a remote MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, so you can connect an MCP-compatible AI assistant — including Claude, ChatGPT, and more — directly to your Hero data. Once connected, your assistant can pull in your workspaces, call transcripts, chat threads, and the documents Hero generates for you — like call summaries, account research, and saved notes — on demand, so you get answers grounded in your own deal intelligence without switching back and forth between tools.

Access is read-only and scoped to your own data. The assistant can read your information, but it cannot create, change, or delete anything in Hero.

Availability

  • Available to Hero (Individual Edition) users.

  • Covers your calls however they were recorded — both meeting-bot recordings and calls captured locally by the Hero desktop app.

  • Hero's MCP support is expanding over time; it currently covers read-only data tools. Additional capabilities are planned.

What your assistant can do

Once connected, your AI assistant has access to seven read-only tools:

  • List your workspaces — see your workspaces with their names and when they were last updated.

  • Find call transcripts — list your call transcripts, optionally filtered by workspace, by date range, or by a meaning-based search (for example, "pricing objections"). Calls recorded by the Hero desktop app appear here alongside meeting-bot recordings.

  • Read a call transcript — pull the full transcript of a specific call, including speakers, what was said, and call duration.

  • List your chat threads — see your Hero chat threads with their titles and message counts.

  • Read a chat thread — pull the full conversation from a specific thread.

  • Find documents — list the documents Hero has generated for you — call summaries, account research, saved notes, and uploaded files — either by recency or by a meaning-based search, with filters for type, source, workspace, and date. Each result includes a short snippet.

  • Read a document — pull the full text of a specific document.

Very long transcripts, threads, and documents are automatically trimmed to keep responses manageable; when that happens, your assistant is told the content was shortened.

Connect Your AI Assistants

Exact steps may vary by assistant, but the flow is the same in any MCP-compatible client.

If your assistant needs an explicit settings or discovery URL, use https://mcp.meethero.ai.mcp; it publishes the sign-in details that MCP clients look for at startup. If you connected before the document tools were added, use your assistant's "refresh tools" option to pick them up.

Connect Claude and Hero

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and choose to add a custom connector.

  2. Add a new remote MCP server using this address: https://mcp.meethero.ai/mcp

  3. When prompted, sign in with your Hero account and approve access. Claude handles this sign-in automatically using secure OAuth — you never paste a password or key into the assistant.

  4. Once connected, Claude discovers the available tools automatically. You can now ask it questions about your workspaces, calls, threads, and documents.

Connect ChatGPT and Hero

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors, then Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode (required to add a custom connector).

  2. Back in Connectors, select Create to add a new custom connector. Give it a name (for example, "Hero") and enter this MCP server URL: https://mcp.meethero.ai/mcp

  3. When prompted, sign in with your Hero account and approve access. ChatGPT handles this sign-in automatically using secure OAuth — you never paste a password or key into the assistant.

  4. Once connected, enable the Hero connector for your chat (from the "+" / tools menu) so ChatGPT can use it. It discovers the available tools automatically, and you can now ask it questions about your workspaces, calls, threads, and documents.

Security & privacy

  • Read-only: the tools can only read your data — they never create, edit, or delete anything in Hero.

  • What it can access: Workspaces, call transcripts, AI conversations, generated docs.

  • Your data only: access is limited to your own account. You cannot reach another user's or another organization's data.

  • Secure sign-in: connections use OAuth, with a sign-in dedicated to MCP and kept separate from your normal Hero web sign-in.

  • Usage limits: requests are rate-limited per user to keep the service responsive.

What's not included yet

This release focuses on reading your data. The following are not available yet and may come in a future update:

  • Tools that create or change data in Hero (read-only for now).

  • Connecting your outside tools to Hero through this server (the tools here read your existing Hero data).
